Local festivities As recently once the 1970s, women’s history had been practically an unknown subject into the K-12 curriculum or in basic general public awareness. The Education Task Force of the Sonoma County (California) Commission on the Status of Women initiated a “Women’s History Week” celebration for 1978 to address this situation.
The week March 8th, Global Women’s Day, ended up being opted for once the center point for the observance.
